What is Hydrocolloid?

Hydrocolloid was originally used in medicine to help wounds heal faster. It works by drawing out fluid and creating a clean, moist environment that supports recovery. In short it pulls out the gunk (oil, pus, and bacteria) from your pimple while protecting it from dirt and picking. As it absorbs, the patch turns from clear to white (that’s all the stuff it just removed from your skin).

How do I use the Novus Pimple Patch?

Start with clean, dry skin. Stick the patch directly over the pimple and leave it on for about 6–8 hours (overnight works best). When it turns white, it’s done its job, peel it off gently and replace if needed.

What kind of pimples does it work on?

  • It works best on pimples that have come to a head, the ones with visible white or yellow fluid.
  • If the patch doesn’t change color, the pimple might not be ready yet or the fluid is too deep. Use another patch the next day, and it’ll help bring it to the surface.
  • For deep cystic acne, it’s best to check with a dermatologist.

Can I pop the pimple before applying the patch?

Not necessary and not recommended. The patch works best when it does the “popping” for you by pulling out fluid safely. If you’ve already popped it, wait until it’s not actively bleeding, then apply the patch to protect and absorb what’s left.

Can I wear it during the day?

Yes it’s transparent and thin enough to wear under a mask or while working. You can also sleep with it overnight.

How long should I leave it on?
